Hi guys!

We've finally completed our FAQ, and we've revamped the rules to hopefully make things clearer and easier for people to join

We're also looking to revamp the language page here: [link]
If you'd like to help us out in the language department, please note us about it and we'll add you to the list ^^ We'll also be translating the rules entirely into a few different languages, so if you think you can give us a hand in that as well, again just send us a note!

Hopefully with the FAQ and rules out of the way we can start organising events soon

Before You Join:

Read and absorb all the rules. We'll know if you haven't

If you don't plan on submitting work, please consider just watching the group instead.

You will receive deviations from the group in your inbox. If you're only interested in getting your fanart exposed and plan on turning off the group's notifications after becoming a member, please be honest and reconsider joining.

All fanart submissions need to be voted in. When you submit work to this group, you are submitting it to be judged. We cannot accept all submissions or your inbox will flood. If you cannot accept the possibility of rejection, please reconsider joining.

Gallery Submissions:

We only accept Fanart.

You can only submit work once a week, meaning one work every seven days.

We have a standard of quality. Fanart encompasses an extremely large portion of art on dA so to avoid inbox flooding, we can only accept submissions that are at or above a certain level of quality.

When submitting, make sure to submit to the most appropriate folder.

Do not delete your submission correspondence. This is the only way you will find out whether your submission has been accepted, rejected or expired. It will also tell you whether voting is still going on, so for your sake and ours, please do not delete it!

Do not submit your own work to the Featured folder. You can recommend another artist's work to be featured. Features are voted on by admin.

Mature deviations are allowed as long as there is a warning and as long as the fanart is not porn.

We do not allow traced/copied/eyeballed works. This may not be a typical rule of other groups but we are adamant about this so please take note:
- Traced/copied/eyeballed work is not allowed if your reference material is already an artwork produced by someone else's hand (eg. Manga material or the like) and your submission is merely a reproduction of the same image. Be aware of this rule when your reference material is from a cartoon, Japanese or Western comic, or an anime, etc.
- If your fanart is striving for photorealism (eg. live action film/TV fanart referenced from a screencap) it is acceptable for submission.
- Please click the double exclamation marks at the end of "please read everything carefully" at the top of the rules before applying to join.

If Your Submission is Declined:

If you want an explanation, you must ask for it. We cannot provide a critique for every 'no' vote we cast when an artwork may ultimately be accepted by majority, and when not everyone necessarily wants an explanation anyway. We prefer to take our time offering critique to those who want it. If you want critique, please ask in the submission correspondence (so don't delete the correspondence!) and give us some time to pool answers from those who voted. Please only ask for a critique once your work is declined. We can't guarantee that we'll remember to critique your work if you ask for one before voting has finished.

Please don't resubmit declined artworks. We will only decline again and you will have to wait another week before you're allowed to submit another piece.

If your piece expired, it means admin didn't manage to accept/decline the piece before the submission period ended. Sorry if this happens, but feel free to resubmit, and include a comment in the submission correspondence about the expiration. It would also help to give us a link to the expired correspondence so that we don't decline unfairly.

I'd love to show my support for visual artists. Could you pass along this message: I have about 500,000 followers on Facebook and Twitter. Anyone who creates "artwork inspired by" my music (Shaun Canon), I'll feature it with a link to their website. I'll give them a good shout out, too, with the hopes of boosting their sales. They can find my music on YouTube, Reverbnation, iTunes, etc. if they search for "Shaun Canon". I hope you pass this along
